Chargehand - Nutritionals Packing

We are seeking applications for a Chargehand within the Nutritionals Packing Department. This is a permanent role working on a rotating 5 shifts on / 3 days off roster.

In this role, you will:

• Lead and support packing staff across multiple packing lines
• Oversee safe, compliant, hygienic, and efficient packing operations while maintaining high-quality standards and audit readiness
• Drive improvements in yield, quality, throughput, safety, and team performance through Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
• Train, develop, and build a high‑performing, accountable, and cross‑functional team
• Support troubleshooting, non‑conformance management, and customer complaint processes
• Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime and improve plant reliability.

This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring initiative, strong organisation, and the ability to bring out the best in others.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• A positive, proactive attitude and strong self‑starter mentality
• Excellent problem-solving skills and an eye for detail
• Physical fitness suitable for a manufacturing environment
• Strong organisational and record‑keeping skills
• Computer competency (including spreadsheets and documentation)
• Practical or mechanical aptitude
• Industry experience in a production environment (advantageous but not essential)

Leadership traits such as clear communication, team building, initiative, and the ability to plan and prioritise work are essential to this role.
