Buildings and Grounds Team Leader
Tatua is seeking a proactive and highly motivated Buildings and Grounds Team Leader to support the ongoing care, maintenance, and presentation of our world‑class manufacturing site.
In this role, you will lead a team of two Buildings and Grounds Assistants and ensure our external buildings, grounds, and ventilation systems are maintained to the standards required of a premium food production environment. You will also coordinate contractors, oversee pest management, and support site sanitation and environmental maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, organise, and support the Buildings and Grounds team to ensure all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification
- Oversee environmental cleaning, grounds care, external plant sanitation, and non‑routine tasks as required
- Manage the building ventilation cleaning and maintenance programme
- Oversee the day‑to‑day operational management of Tatua’s pest control contract
- Conduct regular site walks, inspections, and reporting of maintenance requirements or non‑conformances
- Coordinate external contractors including permits, oversight, and task planning
- Order equipment and materials needed for team operations.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams
- Effective organisation, time management and planning ability
- Motivation, a positive attitude, and the ability to work independently or within a team
- Physical fitness and attention to detail
- A commitment to exceptional hygiene, safety, and quality standards
- Full driver’s licence
- Experience in the dairy/food industry or building/gounds maintenance is desirable, but not essential
- Prior leadership experience is advantageous, but not essential.
This is a full‑time, Monday–Friday position (40 hours per week). Some weekend work may be required for tasks that must occur outside normal operating hours.
