Assistant Accountant - AP/AR


We’re a dynamic and expanding company with a passionate team of Finance professionals who play a key role in driving our success. We’re looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our close-knit finance team and make an impact.

 

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of key processes and provide vital support across the finance function.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the Accounts Receivable (AR) function and support Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the debtor system
  • Support the AP lead with the day-to-day management of accounts payable, ensuring all documents are correctly processed and creditors are paid correctly and on time
  • Provide training and support to the business with regards to AP and AR processes and system queries
  • Provide suggestions and insight into process and system improvement projects related to the financial accounting function
  • Provide support to fellow Finance team members, being the back-up and leave cover for team members as required.

 

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Working towards, or Qualified Member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (or equivalent) OR have extensive experience in accounts payable or accounts receivable
  • Proactive with excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • Strong Excel and systems proficiency
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with financial and non-financial team members
  • You will be adaptable, accurate, have an eye for improvement and detail, and be highly efficient in your work
